ABOUT ME

My upbringing took place in the small town of Van Nuys, California. As a first generation college student, I had big plans in mind for my future. I wanted to go to college and pursue a career in law. Bing-watching episodes of Law & Order SVU might have attributed to my dreams of becoming a lawyer, but my exposure to violence, poverty, and economic inequality in my hometown is what truly fueled my passion for social justice and advocacy.

I am currently a fourth year at UCSB double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy, with a minor in Professional Writing. After graduation, I plan on starting law school in Los Angeles. The most rewarding aspects of my undergrad career occurred in my writing courses. I have found a voice through writing, one that has the power to initiate change and start important conversations. It is also through my writing that I have discovered my love for public interest work. I find that I have a desire to leave places better than I have found them. My pieces reflect that desire and allow me to express my vision to my reader.
